White Layers

The Chamois Appenzeller Spitzhauben is a small to medium sized bird that is cold hardy too! Their crest is an awesome forward mohawk, and their leg color is blue. Chamois lay medium white eggs.

The White Crested Black Polish has a predominantly black body with a distinctive white crest on top of its head. The plumage is soft and fluffy, with a silky texture that gives it a beautiful sheen. While not necessarily rare, quality birds are hard to come by. They are compact in size with gray beaks and slate legs. The Polish lay medium white eggs.

Brown Layers

Marans are dual-purpose chickens and are known for their dark chocolate-brown eggs. They have predominantly black plumage with a greenish sheen, complemented by coppery red hackle feathers on both hens and roosters, and copper saddle feathers on roosters. The Marans have clean slate legs, and they produce medium to large chocolate-brown eggs.

The Crele Bielefelder is an autosexing breed and is very friendly, calm and docile. The Bielefelder is large, just like their eggs! Day-old chicks can be easily sexed based on their feather color patterns, and this trait is passed on with each generation. The Crele Bielefelder lays a large to jumbo light brown egg, sometimes with a speckled surprise.
The Silver Double Laced Barnevelder is a strikingly beautiful bird! The most striking feature is the double-laced feather pattern on the females; an intricate arrangement of precise silver lacing displayed across deep black feathers with a shimmering green sheen. The Barnevelder is a very gentle breed, and they product medium to large brown eggs.

The White American Bresse is best known as the Red, White and Blue chicken with its large red comb, bright white feathers, and steel-blue adult legs. The Bresse is a dual-purpose chicken, and a delicacy, and Bresse produce large cream colored eggs.
1 Day-11 Weeks $16-$36; 12+ Weeks $45+
The Vorwerk is a medium-sized, dual-purpose breed that will add a two-toned color pattern of gold and black plumage to your flock. The Vorkerk’s necks, hackles, and tail are black, the body and wings are gold, and the legs are slate. The Vorkerk is friendly and easy to handle, and they produce medium tinted eggs.
1 Day-11 Weeks $20-$48; 12+ Weeks $55+
The Ayam Cemani is definitely the most sought-after chicken! Admired for its all-black appearance, amazing green sheen, black feathers, black skin, black comb, black flesh, black organs, and black bones has made this breed a crown jewel among chicken connoisseurs. The Cemani produce small to medium tinted eggs.

Blue/Green Layers

1 Day-11 Weeks $10-$28; 12+ Weeks $35+
The Cream Legar is the most popular colored layer autosexing breed and is sought by many. They are friendly and calm, and day-old chicks can be easily sexed based on their feather color patterns, and this trait is passed on with each generation. The Cream Legbar is known for its elegant crested head feathers, and they produce medium blue eggs.
Additional blue/green layer breeds coming late 2026/early 2027 include the Schijndelaar and Shetland Hen.
